IN TO SPRING
March 18th – 19th, 2006

DAY
ONE: Morning, through train service from all
San Diego, Orange County and
Los Angeles Amtrak stations on the PacificSurfliner
to Oxnard. The Surfliner features a Bistro style café car
with both hot and cold breakfast items available. Late morning
arrival in to Oxnard. We will be met and transferred to the
Ventura Yacht Harbor just in time for a delicious, included
lunch at the Greek At The Harbor Restaurant. After lunch we
will board, Island Packers sleek, new Catamaran for an exciting
whale watch sail around the Channel Islands National
Park where
you will also see frolicking Dolphin, Seals and various other
marine animal and birds. Late afternoon return to Ventura Harbor
where we will be met and transferred to the lovely, Country
Inn and Suites in Ventura. We will be greeted with a complimentary
Happy Hour and snacks. Your tour guide will
assist you with restaurant suggestions. There are several good
restaurants within a two to four block walk from the hotel.
Overnight, Country Inn and Suites.
DAY
TWO: Meet your traveling companions this morning
in the Atrium Lobby where the hotel again hosts a hot,
buffet breakfast.
Our transportation will pick us up and take us through Santa
Barbara then along scenic highway 141 to beautiful Lake
Cachuma where we will board
a flat bottom boat for an “up close and personal” look at the
many migrating waterfowl and nesting
bald Eagles plus an abundance of Deer and small animals. After
the cruise, we will travel a short distance to the very European
town of Solvang where we will have an included, Smoorgesbord
lunch followed by time to shop and stock up on Danish Pastries
before we continue to Fess Parker’s (Yes, Davy Crockett himself)
for an included tasting of their premium wines. A souvenir
glass is included. Arrive in the late afternoon in to Santa
Barbara for through train service on the Pacific Surfliner to
Los Angeles and all points south.
One breakfast and two lunches are included.
